Pellar Estates Party in the Vineyard – May 2017

I don’t know why but I freaking love food trucks. The small, artisan menus. The quick service. The fun and casual atmosphere. All of those things really appeal to my inner foodie.

This weekend, my husband Brent and I braved the rain to attend the Pellar Estates Party in the Vineyard food truck festival.

And what better way to celebrate May 2-4 weekend.

The week leading up to this festival had me worried about the rain. Since this was a rain or shine event, it would take a freaking thunderstorm to stop me from going.

So despite the constant drizzle, we braved the less-the-ideal weather anyways.

Since it was the 6th year that Pellar Estates hosted this fabulous event (and my 2nd year going), I felt that a bit of rain didn’t put off other food truck lovers such as myself.

And boy, these food trucks did not hold back. From chicken and waffles to fish tacos, attendees could find anything they were craving.

I even spotted several vegan and vegetarian options… but since this was a special date night, I decided to go all out, choosing something from Heirloom Food Truck.

Here’s what we got:

Szechuan Fried Chicken Sandwich– Brined Chicken Thigh, Homemade Szechuan Sauce, Pickled Cucumber, Bean Sprout, Organic Peanut, Cilantro, Scallion Aioli, Brioche

“Duck On A Truck” Tacos– Pickled Carrot Slaw, Jalapeno, Scallion Crema, Cilantro, Crispy Shallot Chip,

Curry Fries– Homemade Butter Chicken Sauce, Pickled Jalapeno, Curry Aioli, Cilantro, Fresh Cut Fries

Overall, I enjoyed the #PartyatPellar this year, despite the rain. The food was delicious. The wine, amazing as always. And the music and atmosphere was lovely.

And I’d definitely look at going again next year. 🙂

Yay! I’m excited to summer and warmer weather. How do you bring in the summer? Do you like food truck(s)? Leave a comment below!
